Developed by the US Department of Labor’s Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College and Career Training (TAACCCT) SkillsCommons is a free and open online library chock-full of learning and program support materials for job-driven workforce development. SkillsCommons draws from comprehensive collection of workforce-related Open Educational Resources (OER) created by over 700 community colleges across the nation, developed as a nearly $2 billion investment by US Department of Labor . All the materials can be reused, revised, retained, redistributed and remixed by an individual, institution, and industry for FREE with the proper attribution to the original author of the resources.

The site also features a variety of “Showcases” highlighting materials developed by TAACCCT and others. The site also offers a number of different ways to Connect – with grantors, colleges and technical centers, career services, events and more. The interactive Industry Wheel is a particularly interesting feature that allows a user to select an industry field and then drill down from there.
The site is content rich, well organized and easy to use. and has been added to our Resources page, along with the OER.
