Automotive Technician Training

Registering now puts you at the head of the line when formal registration in January. Need based waivers may be available, with priority given to University Area residents. Payment due at time of formal registration.  

Our four-part automotive technician training program kicks off in 2026 as follows:

  • February 21, 2026 : Advanced HVAC, with certification test
  • May 9, 2026:  Automotive Electrical Systems, with certification
  • August 29, 2026: Steering Suspension/4-wheel Drive
  • November 14, 2026: Advanced Driver Assistance
Cost of the program is $192 for the full package of all 4 classes ($48/class) or $64 for individual classes if you don’t want or need to take all four sessions.  Classes will run once a quarter, from 1:30 pm to 4 pm on the above dates.    For ages 18+ .
 
This program is taught by Automotive Specialist,  Pam Oakes, CMASE-EET, CEO of Driven Evidence, a 4th generation auto tech, and a Foundation for Community Driven Innovation (FCDI) Board Member.  (FCDI is the nonprofit organization that runs AMRoC Fab Lab.)

If you want to share skills in programming, design, machining, prototyping and fabrication, textiles, handcrafts of all kinds from woodworking to metalsmithing , robotics, or mentoring, training or teaching experience, or providing facilities and equipment support and maintenance, please register via the button at left. 

Volunteers contributing at least 20 hours a month receive free access to AMRoC Fab Lab workshop and resources.

All Volunteers agree to FCDI Volunteer Agreement & Waiver.
